It is with great sadness that we announce Gavin Fleten, 55, has passed away of an apparent heart attack.  Gavin was on his island adventure in Vieques, Puerto Rico. Gavin who lived every day to the fullest, was kind and generous.  Gavin truly lived the example of a servant’s heart and a genuine friend. Gavin demonstrated his motto “to always do good, for the right reasons” at a level that few can compare.  For all who knew Gavin, they were touched by his friendly spirit and that Scottish accent! Gavin’s legacy is one of remarkable joy, kindness and generosity.

On the morning of Monday, June 18, 2018, he called out for help to his neighbor above who immediately came in response.  Elizabeth called 9-1-1, maintained communication with Gavin and immediately messaged Gavin’s friend Cindy for help. Gavin knew he was not alone and help was on the way.  Great measures were expended until the ambulance arrived to try to save Gavin; it was too late.

A celebration of Gavin’s life is being planned and arrangements will be posted here.  In lieu of cards or flowers we will post charitable causes that Gavin supported so that you may make a donation in his honor.
